Oh Sh*t I Almost Killed You! A Little Book of Big Things Nursing School Forgot to Teach You edition by Sonja Schwartzbach Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews

  • As a newbie nurse I've continually struggled with anxiety and fear of messing up while on the job. Therefore I ferociously lap up any advice, nursing stories and tips from any nursing source. This book was a God-send and spoke directly to my experience as a nurse that can honestly be only done by a nurse that's been there! Sonja's humor and honesty both made me laugh, smile knowingly and even cry tears of relief as she adequately described how I feel everyday on and off the job. I definitely recommend this book to both newbie and experienced nurses and look forward to any new material that Sonja dishes out in the future!
  • This was by far the best book I've read so far regarding newbie nursing as well as nursing school lacks. I'm a nursing student who has to remediate a course in the Fall and was really beginning to question whether I wanted to continue or not. While of course doing everytging necessary to continue on with the University, this book completely reinforced my decision to continue on my path. Thank you so very much Sonja.
  • This isn’t a textbook! It’s written with humor & intended to mentally prepare you for working in the medical field which can be a continious sh*tshow. But, we all survive. Mrs. Schwartzbach gives you an idea of the the kind of thoughts that will run through your mind as you embark on a rewarding career.
  • Great book! I wish I would have read this while in nursing school. I found this book when I hit my 2nd year as a nurse. It was funny, I shed some tears for sure, but overall it was SO NICE to be able to read something written in a way that lets you know that someone else understands the struggle of nursing, the feelings that we feel as healthcare employees, and someone the assures you it is all worth it and it will be okay!
  • It’s better. This is a book that I encourage all NEW nurses (like just getting hired at a big girl hospital for the first time) or for nursing students who need a little bit of a hilarious push. When I read this book, I was a 2 year practicing nurse. Some things I could relate to, other things I would’ve been able to relate to had I read this back in nursing school. Not only is this an easy read, but will put your mind at ease as well
  • It was a good book but I bought after I graduated and already started working. I think it would have been an even better read had I read it before I had already started but it was very easy to read.
  • Great gift for nursing students! You can never be fully prepared for what's to come. Nurses are definitely the backbone.
  • Bought this book for my girlfriend who is an ICU Nurse and told me she worked with the author a few years back. She was thrilled and devoured the book in about two days. I'll be reading it next but she said that Sonja totally nailed it in describing nurse life. Congrats!
