Everyone's financial situation is different. Whatever may fit your budget may not fit mine and vice versa, keeping that in mind I wrote this book for those who want to enjoy the freedom of the open road but on a reasonable budget.
If you are like me and live off of a limited monthly income; then you may enjoy what you find in this book. Even though I didn't discuss how to find free foods or soup kitchens in different cities, I did discuss how to find a lot of everyday needs while RVing for cheap and sometimes free.
Buying an RV itself is a significant investment, but if you shop smartly, you may find a good used one around your city for a reasonable price. Also, remember you can find RV financing that is more like a home financing than a vehicle financing. So the payments are always very reasonable.
This book is a compilation of all the things a person should consider when choosing to go with the RV lifestyle. But the important part of this life is saving money, as I said, by going with RV life, we are now saving money and you can too, as long as you do it the right way. I share my ideas, experience, and thoughts about how to start an RV life, safely, while enjoying the beautiful outdoors and finally be able to live the life we always dreamed of.

I work full-time and still have more than 15-years before I can even think about retiring. BUT…It has been my dream for quite some time to retire and tour this beautiful country of ours with my wife. In this book the author, Robert Nichols, shares his experiences on fulfilling my dream. He discusses subjects from downsizing your home-life to traveling on a budget and everything in between. This book is well written and covers subjects that I had not even considered about the RV life! It is a good, easy read! Hopefully in the upcoming years, Mr. Nichols and I will be able to share the roadway in our respective RVs!

Thank you for your consideration! - There are many books on the topic of RV life, but I enjoyed this book as the author took the approach that we all worry about often which is staying within our means. He also makes it a point to show that for some people it can be a big saving and not and not an expense hike. he showed the math, and though our situation is not exactly like his, I do agree with his calculation. This is a no-nonsense approach to a comfortable RV life for people like us that want the fun but on a budget of course. Two Thumbs way up.
- A great resource if you own an RV, or if you are thinking of owning one. I do not own an RV, so this was a real eye-opener in terms of what I should expect to have to do if I did decide I wanted to purchase one. I now admire those who do buy one and give up living in a regular home! Whether it is going out and buying an RV, or finding where to park (even some hints on where to park for free), this book has it all. You probably won't want to read it in one sitting - take lots of notes, and follow up on the many links. Maintenance and safety are also covered well - I didn't know that those slide-out sections that seem to give you more sleeping space take up living space when you are driving around, and can cause extra challenges when driving. Well worth a read!
- I'm just starting to think about the RV life and Mr. Nichols has made the decision process a heck of a lot easier. This book covers almost every aspect of being able to travel AND not go broke in the process. I especially liked how all the different sorts of RVs were covered, the BIG BOY campers caught my attention right away. It would be like trying to drive an 18 wheeler around with that one. The mathematical aspect, the savings and the costs, were nicely put together. This book shows that if you save, even just a little bit out of each paycheck, you can hit the open road. Just think no more mortgage and interest, that alone should give everyone incentive to start packing. I will definitely keep this book handy so I can begin my travel plans for the future.
- This is a short, very easy read. Took me <2 hours to get through the whole book. I have no experience with RV living and this book provides a good, thorough overview of this lifestyle. One of the strongest aspects of this book is the budgeting information that it provides. After looking at my own personal situation, it appears that it would be cheaper to live in an RV full-time (which was overall surprising to me). Additionally, I like all of the links that the author provides to other resource pages. As I explore this topic more, these additional resources could be really helpful.

I found this book to be helpful in many ways where the author shares his insight into many money-saving tips. This guide is especially helpful for those who are looking to make the transition into living full time in an RV. I enjoyed it.
