"Great advise for a first time parent. There seems to be sooo much that pediatricians don't tell parents and this book was so helpful. It helped me know when baby may need to take certain vitamin supplements, when to start foods, how to get baby to sleep at night, symptoms to look out for if baby needs medical attention, and so much more."

  • After LOVING "Baby 411" I decided to purchase this book when my daughter turned one, and it did not disappoint.
The best feature is how quickly addressed issues are. My girl started to experience separation anxiety and I had no clue how to deal with it, but "Toddler 411" has been a Godsend. Instead of a long, wordy explanation, this book covered the issue in one paragraph!
I highly recommend it for parents who don't have the time to sit down to read a parenting chapter book (because, really, if you have a toddler in your house you won't be having much down time at all).
  • I originally purchased the Baby 411 book in this series when my sister and brother-in-law were expecting. My colleagues in pediatrics highly recommended it during my clinical rotations. My sister loved the Baby 411 book so much that she asked me to buy this book for her as an early Christmas present for my little nephew. In referring to this book, I jokingly told my sister "Babies originally don't come with instruction manuals, but this series comes pretty close!" A great way to save you time from calling your pediatrician about all the little questions that come up.
  • These books are written by my daughter's pediatrician. So I can tell you first hand that Dr. Brown is an AMAZING doctor. She's very thoughtful, has a data driven and investigative approach to solving baby and toddler "problems". And by that I really mean she's the perfect bridge between parents and our understanding of the world and children and what's happening in their world. I give this and the Baby 411 book to all of my friends who are having babies and I regularly go back and read parts of it in times when lack of sleep or frustration is getting to me. My whole perspective and approach will instantly shift with a few wise words from Dr. Brown.
  • Great advise for a first time parent. There seems to be sooo much that pediatricians don't tell parents and this book was so helpful. It helped me know when baby may need to take certain vitamin supplements, when to start foods, how to get baby to sleep at night, symptoms to look out for if baby needs medical attention, and so much more.
  • I loved Baby 411 so when I finished it I immediately ordered Toddler 411. Like Baby 411, it is a great resource--but be warned entire as well as partial chapters are pretty much identical to chapters in Baby 411 with a few additions and adjustments. There is honestly not a lot of new content here.
  • This book addresses all toddler issues with easy to read suggestions and humorous anecdotes. I bought the book for my daughter who, along with her 21 month old son, lives with me. I read it on my . I think it could be a bible for young mothers or caretakers. The authors cover ever conceivable problem that can arise and have a website to pose questions and read more. Kudos to this great team of writers.
  • I had bought "Baby 411" when I was pregnant as I was looking for a nice reference type book and immediately fell in love with it. It is very easy to look up something that is on your mind during those middle of the night feedings. I definitely recommend "Baby 411" to all new parents and suggest they pack it in their hospital bag as reading material after their baby is born. It has a nice chapter on Breastfeeding and actually abide by the American Academy of Pediatrics's Guidelines. They also cover the top 5 challenges women/newborns can encounter while learning to breastfeed and who to turn to for help. I also like the witty type humor the authors have and how they cover questions new parents might feel silly about asking their pediatrician like "Is it normal that my newborn babies poo looks like Grey Poupon?"

Anyway, on to "Toddler 411"... I like "Toddler 411" just as much as "Baby 411". It is once again a great reference type guide that is easy to use and covers topics like Vaccines, Teething, Sleep Habits and Potty Training. Great Book! If you don't want to skim pages upon pages of material just to find the answer you are looking for, this is the book for you! If you don't have "Baby 411" and you are planning to have more kids, buy that too as I'm sure it will come in handy even the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time around.
  • Love the authors' wit and humor.

Easy to read format, with flagged/shaded chapters (you can see the faded parts when the book is closed) so you can jump around and read what you want glancing at the flags for specific issues as you flip through, but could read it straight through as well.

I'm only a chapter or so in and highly recommend it. A lot of it is common sense, but sometimes common sense eludes us all when it comes to toddler behaviors! The medical information is up to date and very easy to understand.

The authors are pro-vaccine (as am I) and I really appreciated all the scientific research that supports why vaccines are beneficial and save lives.

The size and weight of the book is a slight issue to me. It's tall but narrow, and thick, so it's heavy and awkward to hold with one hand. Also it wants to close in on itself and because it is so narrow, that makes it difficult to read as a portion of inside of the page is in the crack of the book. I read a lot so prefer books that open easier with weight distributed somewhat evenly.

The pages and cover are high quality.

Strongly recommend to everyone! Wish I had started out with Baby 411 (same authors I believe) when my daughter was born 27 months ago!
